Gameplay Basics
- Objective: Choose foods to build a balanced diet by trying to complete horizontal rows of nutrients.
- Accept/Discard: Select 'Accept' to add a food's nutrients to the board or 'Discard' to pass.
- Nutrient Blocks: Each food adds colored blocks to the 7 nutrient columns (Fat, Sugar, Carbs, Protein, Fiber, Vitamins, Water).
Scoring & Health
- Row Clearing: Fill a horizontal row with one block in each of the 7 nutrient columns to clear it. This scores +100 points. Blocks above will fall.
- Health: Starts at 100%. Each Fat or Sugar block currently on the board reduces health by 5%. Keep it high!
Special Rules
- Vitamin/Fiber Limit: Vitamin (yellow) and Fiber (green) columns can only hold 3 blocks each. Any extras for these columns will be discarded.
- Nutrient Conversion: If Carbs (red), Protein (blue), or Sugar (pink) columns stack higher than 5 blocks, every 2 blocks above this limit will convert into 1 Fat (brown) block. This conversion costs -10 points.
Game End
The game ends after 100 food choices, if your Fat column fills to the top (15 blocks), if your health reaches 0, or if you click 'End Game'.
Educational Purpose
This game helps visualize how different foods contribute to your nutrient intake. It also shows a simplified model of how excess energy from carbs, proteins, and sugars might be stored as fat in the body if consumed too much. Aim for variety and balance!
